In addition to serving on faculty at Grand Valley State University, I have given masterclasses at Yale University, UNC Chapel Hill, UC Santa Barbara, University of Northern Iowa, and New York University. My philosophy of teaching is to balance the best of traditional horn pedagogy with lessons learned from real world experience throughout my career.
One area of focus I feel passionately about is working through specific technical issues, especially those resulting from overuse or other physical imbalances. I have learned much about this topic from personal experience, and through my studies with legendary brass technique specialist Laurie Frink.
