Watch & Listen

In June 2023, I jumped in at the very last minute to conduct a performance with The Knights at the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts series. WQXR was there and you can stream the performance below featuring works by Jesse Montgomery, Colin Jacobsen, Bela Bartok, and Georges Enescu:

A video recap of a memorable day conducting The Knights side-by-side with the bright and talented young musicians of Chamber Music Center of New York:

A highlight from lockdown days was this collaboration between The Knights, BalletCollective, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art – a remotely recorded version of my arrangement of Max Reger’s Passacaglia in d minor. More about this inspiring project can be found here.

Here is a showreel playlist of collected works:

This live concert video captures the world premiere of Lisa Bielawa’s Fictional Migrations for solo Horn, Flute and Strings, performed by Alex Sopp, The Knights, and yours truly:

Aura Shadows is an EP of solo horn music that explores the concept of casting shadows and the “other” in two ways: duets where I accompany (shadow) myself, and a solo piece by Mikael Karlsson that utilizes characterful halo effects through the use of effects pedaling.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Dave Nelson at his studio in Accord, NY

I wrote the original soundtrack and virtual orchestration for this collaboration with German-American visual artist Christoph Gielen. In January 2017, this film was featured in the exhibition “Ressentiment: A secret Rancour – Notions of Resentment” at the ikob Musem for Contemporary Art in Eupen, Belgium.

Headphones highly recommended for this one 🙂

This video captures The Knights playing some Debussy at a dress rehearsal in NYC’s Central Park Naumburg Bandshell. We love playing at this venue and this shows just how magical a place it is:

I put this fun little video together to depict and celebrate the Great American Eclipse that occurred on August 21, 2017 – the soundtrack is an excerpt from Azul by Osvaldo Golijov, performed by Yo-Yo Ma and The Knights.

I will be adding to this space regularly, so be sure to come visit again!
